Life these days...
It’s been a minute, so how about an update? The fall semester was busy and a whole lot different than I had expected it to be. As the semester came to a close I spent most of my free time applying for internships for the summer of 2012. So far I have applied at: The LA Times MILK Studios Smashbox Studios I am going to try and get a few more applications out in the next week or two...

To my followers...
As my summer internship has come to a close, and I did not get the fall internship position I had hoped for I will no longer be updating this page for the time being. However if you would still like to keep up with my work and adventures please follow my personal tumblr. Thanks for all the support & reblogs!  I hope can continue to intrigue & inspire you! -Be

Recently
New York has been pretty dull. The past few weeks have consisted of mainly photo research, and a few trips to shoot restaurants in Queens for the Voice, nothing too thrilling by any means. Last week however, I also had the not so fun task of writing a 6 page paper for my “internship class.”  Basically in order to receive college credit for my internship I had to write a few papers this...

A few more
I posted a few forgotton photos from 4Knots that I shot of the headlining band, The Black Angels. The set was absolutely incredible, but by the time they started playing I was exhausted so I didn’t get too many shots. One of my favorites from the day is of the soups old crowd surfer, haha he was epic! Lots of work to do, less than two weeks left in New York! Expect another post soon!  ...

A trip to Queens
This week has been soups busy! My friend Micki has joined me in New York for a few days & we have been adventuring all over! We spent a day back at the MET, this time I saw so much more! It was incredible! We also spent two evenings in Times Square, checking out all the flashing signs and touristy things going on there. I have now seen Harry Potter twice!!! I throughly enjoyed each showing...

reignoflove asked: I thought your post about the 7-11 was super funny. I've only ever seen 7-11s as convenience stores and thought it was really weird to see one with a gas station when I was in Kansas City. Is it normal for them to have gas stations??

4 Knots
July 16th Village Voice held the 4 Knots Music Festival at the South Street Seaport. For my internship I was asked to do some filming to make a sort of promo video, but once I finished my “work” I broke out my Holga and my 7D to take some photographs of my own. I only posted about 1/4 on here, but you can see more on my flickr account. I am really happy with the way the footage and the...

Manhattan Beach
I spent the majority of my Sunday at Manhattan Beach! Though it was about an hour long train ride & about a half a mile walk, it was completely worth it. I went to the beach with my lovely roommate Domonica & her friend from MU Felicia. We had fruit, music, books, and lemonade. Snapped these polaroids and a few more on the way back that I will post later. This work week starts tomorrow for...

A day at the MET!
Yesterday was absolutely lovely. The Metropoliton Museum of Art currently has an Alexander McQueen exhibit running, all my roommates have spoken so highly of it, so I decided I would spend my Saturday waiting in the VERY long line to see some of the work by the late & great designer. The hour long line could not have been more worth it! The exhibit was a world apart from the rest of the...

Homesick
It is official: I am so homesick. I miss my family so much. I miss my puppies & my kittens. New York City could be the place for me, if everyone I love could just relocate here as well. Im honestly quite tired of the ridiculous price tags on just about everything, as well as the very rude people. Anyhow, for a recap: Halfway done. Published twice in print, & once online. Not too...

The boys came to town
Last week some of my best friends came to visit! (Hence the lack of posting!) Anyway the boys play in a band together called Hospital Ships. Hospital Ships played at the Williamsburg Music Hall Tuesday & then a rad little rooftop show in Brooklyn on Wednesday. During the rooftop show I did a little bit of filming, hopefully I’ll have some time in the next few weeks to throw something...

My Neighborhood
Monday I had the day off and wanted to avoid spending money so I took the opportunity to explore a bit more of my “neighborhood.” The next issue of Village Voice comes out tomorrow, & I have a photograph in this issue as well! Published two weeks in a row, its amazing. Still loving New York. Miss everyone back home. Cheers, BE
