Yesterday was absolutely lovely. The Metropoliton Museum of Art currently has an Alexander McQueen exhibit running, all my roommates have spoken so highly of it, so I decided I would spend my Saturday waiting in the VERY long line to see some of the work by the late & great designer. The hour long line could not have been more worth it! The exhibit was a world apart from the rest of the museum, dimmly lit by wall sconces and slightly cooler than the rest of the building joined by the sounds Mozart overhead. The exhibt seemed to curve around for miles, each new room more fascinating than the last. Reading qoutes by McQueen himself and watching films of his runway shows literally gave me chills. If you are in New York before August 7th, YOU MUST GO TO THIS EXHIBIT. Anyhow, after the Alexander McQueen exhibit I wandered into the rather disappointingly small photography wing of the Met. Though it was small I was still able to see photographs by some of my favorite photographers including Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, and Brassi. Seeing work by the people who inspire you most is so much different in real life as opposed to in print. On my way out of the museum I stumbled upon paintings by Van Gogh & Monet….the Met has a entire rooms dedicated to each artist. It was so incredible. After the museum kicked me out because they wanted to close for the evening, I wandered down to Central Park and read my new Star Wars book for a bit and then headed home. 

Safe to say yesterday was just what I needed after a crappy long work week. Feeling refreshed and ready to go! Heading to Manhattan Beach here in a few to soak up some warm sunshine, its 90 here! Anyhow, enjoy the photos from yesterdays adventure!
